Bertina is originally from Washington state. Having recently traveled there, I can attest to how greatly different the landscape and climate is. It might be hard for some to imagine having to plan a wedding miles away from all that you know and all the people you grew up with, but having to finalize plans so soon after losing a mother might just be unbearable. Though her circumstances were heart breaking, they didn't break her or her beautiful and charismatic spirit. The strength of this woman is remarkable.. Far from home and even farther from her mother, we wanted to give Bertina the closest thing to the Northern West Coast we could find, within the state of Louisiana.
